This is a large Yoruba-style fan for orishas Oya, Oba, Iyewa / Yegua - all of these goddesses had tools that are made of copper. Oya, who is the deity of wind, transformation, and the cemetery gates, is the mother who gave birth to 9, including Iku and Egun. Iya Mesan Loro, her tree is the Flamboyan or Framboyan from which we get the vaina or seed pod that is her sacred musical ashere like instrument. This fan is 12 inches long and pure copper, made by hand. It would be an amazing addition to Oya, also Yewa or Oba.
